Ok I can comment now, I didn't want to leave a biased comment on the first thing. lol. I would personally say Spanish because of the sheer amount of speakers in the world. In fact, they say that Chinese is spoken by the most amount of speakers then Spanish!, even before English. As well, Spanish is the most spoken language on the internet (apparently). I just never understood (as i live in Belfast Ireland) why in England French is so popular. don't get me wrong, I like French, but here hardly any one studies French and studies Spanish instead.
I've always thought that but I guess it's probably got something to do with the fact that French used to be a powerful language and was traditionally learnt/understood by the upper class. Also, I *think* it's the 2nd most taught language (after English).
