I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Ummagumma. "Be Careful with that Axe, Eugene" has to be the best title for a piece of music ever.

Hehe good to see some interest, it's only me and like 2 other people at school who are into it :P

Of course, Pink Floyd is quite noted for it's album's covers. Which would be your favourite, if you had one?

Mine would have to be the Wish you were here cover:

'Be Careful with that Axe, Eugene' is not one to fall asleep to. I nodded off while listening to music in bed and that came on. When the screams started I was terrified...

    PF rule.

If this was a society I would join.

And Atom Heart Mother is incredible. 'If' is possibly my favourite song, for the lyrics.

I frequently listen to The Wall start to finish. It's a masterpiece of music. Dark Side of the Moon is a brilliant concept album, too. Yes, they're the most famous of Floyd's works, but they're also the best.

    That's a startling correlation you've noticed there.

My dad saw them twice on the Dark Side of the Moon tour and the Wall. So. Jealous.
My dad saw The Wall too, I am so unbelievably jealous! :p:

I have been a borderline obsessive Floyd fan since I was about 12 and have concluded that DSOTM and The Wall are not 'the best' albums. Personally at the moment I'm not as keen on the Wall, though it is a staggeringly incredible concept album, as I am on some of the others.

    Meddle
    Wish You Were Here
    Atom Heart Mother
    Animals

Are all as 'good'. Though really, my preferences fluctuate and I move from album to album, so I only ever have a favourite at a certain point. It's Meddle at the moment.

I'm a rather big fan of Floyd myself. Not a complete Floyd anorak like one of my friends but I do have access to their entire discography and really Dark Side is definitely my favourite album.

I think what we're getting at here is that it is subjective and the concept of a 'best album' doesn't exist with a band as incredible and prolific as Floyd. Watching Live at Pompeii is an entheogenic experience.

Put me down! I've got 3 Floyd Posters; DSOTM, Wish You Were Here and The Wall (the one with the screaming face and marching hammers). I like all 3. Floyd-based art = awesome.

Damn straight! Why have Comfortably Numb and Have A Cigar not been mentioned? I mean, how can ye have any pudding if ye don't eat yer meat?

Grrr I just downloaded Meddle right now, and the stupid file wouldn't open. There's a waste of a few hours of downloadtime
