Applied Maths?

I was flicking through the prospectus, looking at what I could do for my minors, and saw that you only needed GCSE grade C in Maths to do 'Applied Mathematics'. I got GCSE grade B, anyone know what sort of stuff you do? Sounds quite interesting.

well, i did a level maths and the type of maths we called 'applied' was stuff like statistics and mechanics
maths that can be applied to real life situations
