If you make an application through UCAS Extra the unis consider the same information as that on the standard application, sometimes with an updated PS if appropriate (this is sent direct to the uni, not to UCAS as the original PS you submitted can't be changed). So, if you have resit results or are changing course choice you can pass that information on to the uni you apply to through Extra.

In Clearing, it does happen that the entry requirements are lowered for some courses at some unis. But don't count on it.

Thanks for the reply. Any chance you know if Brunel lower their entry requirements on the day? I've heard that they had most of their courses available on clearing last year.

Clearing is more about enthusiasm than grades, so even if they accept someone with really low grades it doesn't mean they'll accept everyone who got that. That's why you need to phone them and talk to the admissions tutor and why you absolutely have to visit.
