Concerning Turkish operations in Iraq

Liechtenstein is troubled to find that a large ground attack from Turkey has been launched to combat the PKK in Iraq. We feel that this kind of action is unsuitable for the security of the region, and call upon Turkey to withdraw. We believe that this action will escalate violence and increase the likelihood of civilian deaths.

This move is indeed a breach of Iraq's sovereignty and Afghanistan would like to join others in their call for Turkey to remove its troops from northern Iraq. The stability of the northern region of Iraq is at the focus of the international community's efforts towards peace in the area, and we urge Turkey and the PKK to unite in talks in the coming weeks, moving towards some sort of resolution. The PKK's violent means of separation from Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria should not be allowed to commence and peace is much-needed in the region.

Although we understand that Turkey finds eliminating the PKK terrorist group of the up most importance, The USA hopes this mission will be over as swiftly as possible so the Turk's can return to their own land.

The UK would urge Turkey and Iraq to undertake meaningful dialogue in this area, and for Turkey to end it's mission in northern Iraq as soon as possible.
