GCSE Astronomy

Hey,
As of September my college will be offering a teach-yourself GCSE Astronomy course (link: http://www.theplanetearthcentre.btinternet.co.uk/gcse_astronomy.htm ). I think it looks quite ineresting, but I have a few questions about it which the company don't seem to be answering. Is there anyone out there who is doing / did astronomy?

- Is it just a 1/2 course GCSE as it lasts only 1 year? I can't find anything which says.
- Do UCAS consider it to be a 'real' GCSE i.e. will I have to put it on my UCAS form?
-Did you find it particurally difficult? I will be in year 13, 2nd year IB, and although I think I will find it interesting I don't want to take a subject which is not really going to enhance my uni applications, but which might require a lot of work which might not help with my IB.

Thank you.

Ye, astronomy is seen as a good GCSE.
Basicly, just remember the facts and applyi it to the questions.

Pretty much self teachable, coursework can be a bit of a bitch though, there so picky with marks >.<
