Yep the website says you take 50 units of Phil in the first year:
Intro to Phil A (20units)
Intro to Formal logic (10units)
Intro to Phil B (20units)
The rest of the first year is Econ.
I think that for most VL51 courses the two elements are (fairly) balanced but its worth scouring the departmental websites to see if any specialisation is allowed.

Another phil/econ person! I thought i was the only one! Don't you wish that Economics with Philosophy existed? Or are you more a philosophy person? Where else are you applying to? I've had a really hard time deciding where/what course to apply for

Im applying for a mixture as well. PPE at Ox and Durham, Econ and Phil at LSE and York, Straight Econ at Bristol and Notts. Im in the same boat in that I didn't really study that much phil, but I taught myself the aqa as level last year (got a B  ) and def want to do it at uni, im just not sure how much.

At Bristol you can do loads of phil as options on the L100 econ course, and at York if I don't like Phil I can apparently switch to L100 at the end of the first year (according to the PEP website). Not sure about the options for the other courses (should probably have checked before I sent off my form  ) but yeah, should be good hopefully.

ha good for u
we might end up to be schmates lol

im sure u know more about philo than me thennn... i just read some philosophy books out of interest and ive bought another one on ancient political philosophers @Boarders today to try to boost my PS. My PS isnt ready yet... :frown:

y dun u just apply for PPE at York??

PPE at York did look tempting but I thought that (seeing as i'm not that interested in politics i might as well try for PE there instead, and like I said, if I dont do well in phil apparently I can switch to straight econ.

I know what you mean, the statement is hard to compile. I did mostly econ, some philosophy and mentioned a tiny bit of politics to link the phil and econ together. Good luck, i'm sure it'll be fine
