Can you do a degree in a zoology-type subject combined with a maths degree? I want to be a lion conservationist when I'm older, although I would like to take maths a bit further aswell .
lol, suits ur name......... check around in course guide books.... it's a very rare degree though, I doubt any prestigious unis will offer it (Cambridge/UCL/BATH/etc.........).
My Stats teacher told me that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should ne1 take a single honours maths degree with no electives unless maths was like breathing for them (+ me + jon just taught ourselves AS pure and got As.....) because it is SO BORING!! She said either go to a uni where u can do electives or do a JH. That said, JH degrees are commonly acknowledged as harder because each department wants 60%. But if there's another subject you love then go for a combo. I'm applying for JH Bio + Math
im doing joint honours in mathematics and computer science at imperial and its exactly what bekaboo said, we do 60% of the maths degree (basically all the fun stuff like pure, no boring statistics) and 60% of a normal computing degree (again, we skip boring hardware courses etc).
its definately more work than doing a single degree. maths at later years get hard for single maths, but we do the same stuff for pure as well.. in years three an four we can choose to specialize in either maths or computing, say do over 70% maths and only sm computing
