I haven't heard of punting the Exe before, people do canoe down it though...

I advise Google to answer that question  or Angelil...

When I googled it, it just came back with Exeter College Oxford's punting club.

Oh well.

In that case, its unlikely theres punting on the Exe... It has a few too many weirs I expect, and its a tidal river..that might have a bit to do with it...

Also how accurate is the stereotype of Exeter being an Oxbridge rejects uni?

Are there any such groups at Exeter of "rahs" or "hooray henrys" who band together etc?

I haven't had a chance to experience the exeter campus properly even though I'm part of the uni. I'm at the medical school and based in plymouth for years 1 and 2.

I'm hoping when I get a car to drive up to Exeter and join some of the clubs and socs there seeing as everything's a bit well, rubbish in plymouth.

Why couldn't we all just be housed in Exeter?

No punting on the Exe I'm afraid. You clearly haven't seen it - it's a bit brown and murky! I personally wouldn't want to try it.

In my flat in my first year there were 3 of us who were Oxbridge rejects out of the 12 of us in the flat. This to me seems a pretty accurate representation of the university demographic as a whole.

It is pretty rah-heavy but you don't have to socialise with them if you don't want to - there are plenty of normal people too. (Well, if you use the word 'normal' loosely... )

Not sure how long it would take to drive from Exeter to Plymouth but I'd be surprised if they don't have things for you to do down there. Though saying that if you're going to be a medic I think you're probably overestimating the amount of time you'll have! My sister (also a medic, but in Cardiff) is a member of a couple of socs but doesn't actually have the time to do much with them.

True but being honest plymouth really doesn't cater for my needs and atm I'm doing very little work but getting by. Joined many clubs and socs but haven't attended not due to the amount of work but because I pretty much leave till the last minute. Shouldn't say that out loud.

Exeter would only take about 45 mins by car right?

It's about an hour on the train, so would probably be a bit longer by car. I've never driven it though, so I can't say for sure.

I've been told it's slightly quicker by car when you cut out all the pointless stops on the train. Also bear in mind some may drive like maniacs (not me  ).
