English GCSE marks and etc...

Hi guys, I was wondering, does any of do Edexcel English B and English literature?

I've researched a bit and the grade boundary for B-A* is as follows (for Eng B):
English B(2007) - marks out of 100:
A* - 85
A - 74
B - 67

I was pretty sure that these corresponds to the overall mark, i.e including coursework.
So if one got a middle A for both coursework, you would literally need to get abot 56/75 for both papers to get the A overall.
However, someone said to get the A* it's 93% or above in the actual exam, and I am confused, don't you think that's a bit too high?

So I am really confused and may I ask what were the usual grade boundaries for the actual exam? Is the A* as high as 93%? And what about the A?

Thanks guys and if you have any more info on English GCSE (any board), please feel free to share! ^____^//
