The keyboards are pretty much the same. The Curves have flat keys and the 9700 has fretted keys, doesn't really make a difference though.

Unfortunately BBs are pretty bad for internet speeds, but if you want a decent speed you want 3G, which the 8900 can't provide.

If you want basics then you'll want one of the Curves. The Bolds are high-end devices.

So basically my suggestion would be the 3G

I would have suggested the 3G, but I find the 8900 keyboard to be nicer, plus the 3G doesn't have a flash on its camera.

I have the Bold 9700, and love it very much! I've had it since July and have been really lucky with it so far as I know that some models are prone to breakdowns. My friend got his on the same day as me and has already had to get his replaced twice and repaired once!

EDIT: It's now July, and have had to get it replaced once but that's okay because I got a brand new phone out of it which I wasn't expecting. I think the novelty has worn off a little bit for me now, and I'm getting rather bored of it. But this would happen with me whether I got the best phone in the world or not! Oh well, only another 10 months before I can upgrade; that'll be a nice graduation present for myself!
