Full time normally one year, part time normally two.
One year on the whole. (Full Time)

Some are one year, others are 2

usually its 9months and then you have to write your dissertation over the summer

I'll go with what others have said. Usually a year, for taught it's usually nine months teaching, dissertation over the summer.

For part-time masters and masters with work experience then they can be two.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.
Usually a year, although mine's two!
Is it true that if you get a BSc degree and then want to do a Masters.. you have to get a postgraduate loan as opposed to just the regular student loan?

Normal student financing is only for undergraduate study.

Eeeeek, thats ruined my plans then. So the MSc depends on a independent loan you can get or money you have already, not a student loan?

You can apply to get funding for it from a research funding body.

This site has some good info about the different sources of funding.

After a undergraduate degree, how long does it take to complete a masters? 12, 18 months?

Depends on the uni, at mine masters are exactly 12 months long, which is nice. I couldn't imagine having it cut short and to be finishing it up now. :s-smilie:

Depends on Univ. But most Taught masters(MSc) courses are 1yr(9month course + 3month project)
