Calculating order of reaction for iodine clock

hi,

basically i'm encountering some problems with my A2 coursework. I've investigated the effects of changing concentration of iodine in the following reaction:

1. 2I-(aq) + S2O82-(aq) → I2 (aq) + 2SO42-(aq)

2. I2 (aq) + 2S2O32-(aq) → 2I-(aq) + S4O62-(aq)

This has allowed me to find that its a first order reaction with respect to iodine. I was wondering if there was any way i could use my results to find the order with respect to persulphate?... Without carrying out another experiment and varying the amount of S2O82-?

No, unless you were given the overall order, obviously.

Thanks,

I was about 99.9% sure I couldn't, but just wanted to double check. Didn't want to chance messing up my coursework.
