what does smitten actually mean?

its just a word really take it as you will. ive always thaught smitten to mean falling in love.

But anyways. 'Smitten' is like besotted, kind of like infatuation.

Be pleased with oneself for one reason or another is what I go by.

It's also the name of a small South American rodent.

I thought it meant blinded by love/attraction, that's how i use it anyways
