British Isles
- Lands End to John O'Groats
- 'Midlands Area' to Cardiff to Cork to Belfast to Glasgow to home.
- Try and take in a city a day for two weeks
there's limited scope really as we're such a small island. Birmingham to London can be done in under two hours if traffic is good, and that's half of England.
Europe:
- Ibiza/Majorca (I'm not too sure if there are ferries)
- Athens
- Your house - Hull - Bergen - Oslo - Stockholm - Helsinki - Tallinn - Riga - Vilnius - Warsaw - Berlin - Amsterdam - Brussels - Paris - London. I just made that up whilst looking at a map, but it sounds brilliant, I'll do it one day . A city a day, with two in Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Stockholm and Paris and its 2 1/2 weeks.
- Down through Benelux, Germany and then Eastern Europe down to a Greek island. Then a ferry to Sicily, back home through Italy and France.
if heading for europe watch out for age restrictions, i believe they like you to have 3 years experience. but don't take that as gospel i'd have to google it first :s
in the uk you could go north and do manc, leeds, liverpool, york, newcastle and maybe catch a ferry to ireland.
or go south and do london, brighton, portsmouth, exeter, cornwall for some surfing and head back up via bath for some sightseeing.
actually its only of you hire a car that you have to be 20+ , ive been looking at american potential roadtrips myself but they seem to require that you are 25+!

It's different all over Europe, but as long as you're in the EU, typically the limiting factor isn't any governmental legislation or anything, but rather insurance companies over there not wanting to cover young, foreign people.
Try going to the furthest point from france in England, Wales, Scotland and N.Ireland.
Last summer I've done UK roadtrip which I really enjoyed.
I used camp sites as my accommodation.
I went from Oxford to Southampton - down the seaside road to Exeter - than to the north coast of Devon and Cornwall (AMAZING) staying near Newquay - next was St. Just and Lands End (because it was so beautiful we spent 3 days there) - later we went to Cardiff through Bristol - Next stayed somewhere near Brecon Beacon Nation Park (Near Newport - absolutely amazing) - moved to Liverpool - than lake district for 2 days (Lake district nature is stunning) - than to Glasgow - next was Fort William and Mallaig - next morning fairy to the Skye Island (few days there but nothing special really) - from Skye to Inverness and Fort Augustus - than Edinburgh (this city took stole my heart) - from Edinburgh down south along A1.
This trip took me 2 weeks and 3000 miles. I enjoyed it very much. Definitely must see Lake District, Edinburgh, highlands, and north Cornwall&Devon.

you should be insured over here, and most policies will let you go abroad, providing you let them know in advance; foreign insurance companies shouldnt even come into it?
If you're looking for one in the uk, and I wouldnt usually say this, but it's gotta be Scotland imo
