For any given acid (say) that acid has a conjugate base e.g. HCl -> H+ + Cl- here the acid is HCl and its conjugate base is the Cl- ion. Same principle with bases
NH3 and OH- act as a base

NH4+ and H20 act as an acid

Each has is present as a conjugate base on one side of the equation and a conjugate acid on the other.

NH3 + H20 ----------> NH4+ + OH-
