In some, however F1 pay is low for the public sector, especially for a professional. After debt repayments, BMA subs, MDU/MPS fees, etc. the take home pay is pretty ****.
Or am I wrong? I won't pretend to know the ins and outs of medical pay. -
Re: do doctors get paid enough? Then why don't you move off to general discussion instead of chipping into a careers advice forum?(Original post by nothingspek)

Yes the pay at the top is good, not particularly spectacular, but good. However, someone going into the profession needs to be aware that the pay and conditions at the bottom are **** and are only going to get worse. -

Re: do doctors get paid enough?maybe but that's no good to you when you're 23 and living just over the poverty line.... saying you'll earn more in 10 years time doesn't pay the rent!!(Original post by nothingspek)

Re: do doctors get paid enough?
As renal said, public sector work at the bottom is poor, however progress can be made at a steady rate.
Private is extortionately well paid, my mums insurance is about to pay 5k for a knee graft. Am i right in saying private practices can charge what they like, and medical insurance companies pay up? Or is there legal caps on what they can charge? -
Re: do doctors get paid enough? It can be if you get the top jobs, but I'm sure most doctors would prefer to have a better starting wage and a lower wage later on instead of struggling with debt at the beginning.(Original post by nothingspek)
