in any case, i'm clearly not new as you can see. instead, i am an old member returning from the dead.
so, a small about me, i suppose:
-i was born in new orleans, right on the river.
-i drink, i smoke, and i'm a staunch believer in having a good book in one's satchel at all times.
-one of my friends claims to read erotic fiction to enable himself to become a better writer, while i enjoy it because the word tawdry often applies.
-i have five legal addresses on three continents, so yes, i have quite a few frequent flier miles.
ahhhh, and, most importantly i study medicine in my breaks between my full time job, which is titled, "looking like a hipster on streetcars and avoiding powdered sugar on beignets."
so, it's nice to meet you! please feel free to introduce yourself, and if that didn't remind you of those, "welcome to uni, now let's play introduction games" you have a memory repression problem.
ready, set, go....post. i'll give you a lollipop, i promise!
please tell me that you and infinity have married since i've been gone, it would be lovely to find that she didn't truly leave after all.
and, you're in my sig! now that i find you are still bumming around the place i ought to take you out. you can hardly be missed if you're still present, after all.

It is, Ester. It's great to see you again!
I'm afraid she did leave. Leave the forum, leave me I wonder what she and the old gang are up to.
Your sig is great! It's a comforting reminder of a simpler time. A time I'd like to have back And if you must take me out, then I must go :getmecoat
Anyway. How are you doing these days? I see you're at university! Don't suppose you're still swimming are you?

i know what you mean about simpler times.....i came back to the forum and was like where is everything? what is this homescreen? there was much confusion on my part!
i actually quit swimming officially a year and a half back. i ended my career with making state and tantalizingly close to making national cuts. but! it was not to be, as my university doesn't have a swim-team.
I met you in 1980, but that's close enough! Wow, you've been a member for ages! you sound interesting
yes. there was this one time, when the forum split up into gangs and made war....all members associated themselves with large terrorist groups (called girls on top) or smaller bandit bands of members (like bhaal85 and this one other guy and i did). the gentleman's league grew out of this troubled time....
i would have to say that that was the most fun the forum has ever been! let's go back to war!

You will adapt. If you stay. Will you stay?
Ah. Stuppoid uni. Well, you did pretty well getitng to state level! So what next for Ester?

well if that isn't a million dollar question!
if you must know i'm getting married to my boyfriend in new york city august, and am moving to canada with him....
i sort of figure i have all the time in the world for university, so i'll probably pick it back up after my "sort-of" gap-year.
currently studying medicine, but i'm not entirely sure i want to keep on that track........in short: i have no idea what i want to do, am about to lose my status as a trust fund baby by getting married without parental approval, and plan on strictly upholding the principle that learning doesn't come from structured education
mmm, you know, i think it's a lot more of an internet metropolis than it used to be. it's harder to get to know people because it's so large, and i think the format is a bit more confusing.
i do miss the old forum and the relative "smallness" of it, but at the same time, a lot more members means help on academic questions because of a larger base of knowledge etc.
so you take the good with the bad i suppose. change is always like that. but i would have to say that i had a much greater personal attachment to the forum in 2003-2004.
