Important petition for Students who are Carers

As this is my first post, I'd like to introduce myself, I am Alex Robinson 20 (birthday today), I study the LLB at UWE in Bristol and I am a full time carer for my fiance but the government don't provide Carers Allowance for students who are carers. This limits carers trying to do other things be it education or employment.

Currently I and Kate Thomas another student carer but based at the University of Northampton are challenging this rule with the tribunal service with a vision of attempting to force a review of the Law of Carers Allowance and hope that this will mean that Students will be able to claim this statutory Provision whilst continuing to study. Some say there is a little chance of changing the law but you don't know if you don't try, So please sign this petition and pass it on to everyone you know.

An e-petition was created by her, She forwarded me on the link http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Value-Carers/

I am also wondering if any other students are in the same predicament as me and Kate as we're based in different parts of the country, yet if we have other student carers based around the country the campaign has a bigger impact. If you're in relatively the same position please contact me
