French for 9/11

Hi,

Does anyone know the French for 9/11 i.e. the attacks on the World trade Centre on 11/09/01. I could probably work something out but I'd like to know the exact phrase that the French use.

I'm not French, but I would say "les attentats du 11eme september" (the attacks of September 11th) - that would be more than clear enough. If someone says "the September 11th attacks, it's obvious that they're referring to 9/11.

Before figures, it's du. Before the word, it's de l'.
