Hmm, not sure. Just get a basic understanding of basic averages, standard devs, and where and why you'd use different statistical tests. If you can find a good basic online resource that's probably all you'd need.

It depends on your Uni. Some give good classes on stats so you don't need to read anything other than lecture notes. If you're really keen though, I personally think just reading what is expected at A-level is good enough. Something like the Cara Flanagan A-level textbook has a section on basic stats that would give a good foundation.
