Default Converting American GPA to British system??

I keep reading about 2:1's and 2:2's. I thought there was a basic division of what grades consisted of each category (2:1, 2:2) for American GPA's but now I've found a great deal of conflicting information. Does anyone know a site I could visit to find out what law firms in London would convert my GPA to?

Some say 3.5 and above is a 2:1, others say 3.4, 3.3, or 3.0 and above.

I'm so confused!
Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

The SRA will decide what your degree is worth so that you are able to put it on your CVwhen you are applying for jobs in the UK.

Why not just call up HR at the firms you want to apply to and find out?
