For part c in the poems (I did Donne) I only got time to write about one poem does anyone think this will be a big problem to my mark. I just completly ran out of time and had to get onto the next one. (death of a salesman by the way- I actually did alright on that one although I only wrote about a page and a half.)

I'm not looking forward to the synoptic unit next year !!
A woman of no importance- I did the question about the end of the play. I'm actually quite surprised that most people have found this hard, I think it's quite an easy play really.

World's wife- Didn't have a clue about the one question, so I did the Eurydice one. I think it went okay, I'm just not sure if I included enough lierary terms.

Wise Children- Did this as a retake. It went alot better this time. I did the parenthood question which was easy because there's a lot to talk about.

what is the lowest mark i need to get for spies if i get A's in the poem and play (counts for 40%) and i have 19/20 for coursework? (to get an A...)

i did a similar estimating thing for myself altho slightly different as i got 20 on the cw (Don't know how i managed that!) - if u JUST get an A with the play/poetry ie on the borderline then for my stats u cld get C borderline and stil come out on the lowest A but still an A! for u then just slightly higher wld b needed. hope that helps a little, im rather worried for my results - the q's were quite horrible!

If you got complete full marks in Spies and your coursework, and one of your essays from today, you could of gotton 0 in the other essay from today  Likewise you could of gotton half marks in each and gotton an A

Put it this way - you can drop up to 60 marks to keep an A

saltey- with donne it said you could write about one or two so you should be just finee.. i didn't like the poetry question at all.. compared it to the good morrow and flea, but didnt really know where i was going with it! thank god for the pride and prejudice question..

Choco, i thought the purpose of charles presentation was an OK questions.
Certainly worth doing if you're aiming for top grades.
Presentation questions are always slightly easier than extracts in my opinion.

I could find hardly anything to talk about....apart from his show of genuine sentiment and honesty as a character and modern ways in comparison to Joseph (false sentiment)....Oh and something to do with how he is a possible reflection of Sheridan's own life as a youth dreaming and living extravagantly but drowning in his sorrows of dire finances...other than that i've failed!

But ironically the extract question was all to do with charles as well so it wasn't really a choice...either way you ended up talking about his character.
But i certainly agree with you about presentations being easier...there's definately more scope and lengths at which you can talk about a character just not Charles' character!:p:
wow, i never knew coursework was so important then.

so theoretically i can get 52.5% on each paper and still get an A>?
i'm really worried now.
thinking back on my paper - i forgot to contrast Mr Hayward and Mr Wheatley's mannerisms ... i said nothing about the "old bean" thing which is a serious point [d'you think they'll discriminate me for not including that?!]
i also think my structure was a bit iffy - a bit all over the place really.. i tried to do it fathers then fatherhood... but i ended up talking about Mr Hayward, then a bit of contrast of Mr Hayward and Mr Wheatley, talking about other father figures then talking about Mr Wheatley again. hmmf :frown:

Whoaaa Larkin's sections totally had me stumped!
i did the question on the slides.. basically related it to The Old Fools.. and High Windows..?
Cold mountain was HARD.. i did that extract question on how its a good opening.
and AWONI i did the hester-gerald question...
If, say, I got a D on my English Lit coursework, how well on my exams would I have to have done to achieve a B? I'm guessing an A is impossible...?

senigma90- Id have done the good morrow to if i'd had time I wish i'd done a plan now so i could have picked up a few extra marks

SpiritedAway- I think I made about 4 or 5 points and did the jungle one too I don't think that was a very popular one with my class the people I asked said they did the dream one. My main point was that about the 'conctete jungle' growing from the green spaces of America.

For DOASalesman I wrote about the jungle thing.
What exactly did you write about?I mainly just wrote about all the problems with American Society at the time-consumerism and commercialisation, cheating, agression, lying, stealing, high price to pay for freedom and imprisonment, role of women, delusion and dreams being out of reach..aswell as including context stuff like post war boom blabla.and stuff like that?
I really DIDNT know WHAT to write for this Question..

i was beginning to feel better then. i'd done 2 1/2 pages, but i'd only made 3 points, and out english teacher told us that we should be making about 7. :frown:

SpiritedAway- My english teacher told me i should write about 4 paragraphs for section a and b in the poems bit and at least 5 for section c. I wrote about 1/2/4. so your not the only one.
Im not exspecting a high grade although it would be nice to actualy get one and not completly fail. I'm not re-sitting no way!!
