How much do people from different colleges mix? (eg. in societies)

Is it common for people to have mates from different colleges? i'm going to LSE and i'm worried that the social life won't be any good. At the very least I want to meet people who arn't just doing social sciences. Are there many ways of meeting people from other colleges? what are the university-wide societies like?

University of London societies have a good mix of people usually. The sport ones are quite active. I'm a member of ULU Drama Society and that was fun to meet people from Kings, SOAS and elsewhere. :smile:
