Hi. As I said before...please use the proper term and not use the term "yellow peeps". People may find this racist and may not like it. I hope you could edit this and change it...so that you would not create any problems. Thank you.

That is not my point...I think that you should make things less "standing out"...so that things would be better for you. I'm just helping you...not picking on you.

Hong Kong is definitely not as bad as some people thought it was going to be before the handover, all those people who 'escaped' to Canada probably wouldn't find much different in today's HK compared to pre-1997.

The Chinese government has largely (but not totally) allowed HK to have a high degree of autonomy (they know that failed Chinese socialism would destroy HK's prosperous free market). Some things are worse there is less political freedom (though there wasn't much during colonial anyway), press freedom is worse because journalists are scared, pollution has increased, SARs was disgraceful...

However all countries have their ups and downs. How has the UK been in the last 10 years?
Prosperity under the labour government, plus London raising more IPO funds than New York.

Bet the natives were thrilled to have the likes of you in their city...
To be honest I'm not sure if they were thrilled since, to be perfectly honest, we lived really different lifestyle from them. And there are a few places where the expats all clustered.

Prosperity as in bigger City bonues and greater inequality?

not to mention sleazy and corrupt politicians cheating their own voters ...and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan which no one wanted... etc

Iraq may be a mistake, but Afghanistan is certainly not.

The troops there defeated the Taliban and is still fighting there actively to prevent a Taliban comeback. These days, woman are allowed to go to schools and people have the freedom to live by their own virtues instead of those being pressed upon them by the barbaric regime. They are truly doing God's work here on Earth.

So you say you've lived in HK, but never mixed (very well) with the native majority?

This makes all your political judgements about what the HK people think about the PRC very much invalid.
