Reading

I was thinking of doing a bit of light reading for next year, just to keep my brain going over the summer holidays. Usually I do bugger all between June and September, and when I go back to school I feel like a right Set-5er.

So I was wondering If anyone could recommened some reading to do over the summer holidays, something that would be useful in the 1st year preferably (I don't plan on reading it intensely before any of you guffaw and say I don't need to do this; It's just something I want to do). Perhaps something you found interesting on your first year, or something you wish you had had longer reading/ more experience with before the 1st year.

Cheers

Christopher Brookmyre.

No, it's nothing to do with Medicine (although there is a doctor involved at some points) but he's awesome. If you're really keen on medic crap, I think Quite Ugly One Morning has some interesting bits on that front.

House of God. Excellent read.

I read that before I started medical school.
Is it accurate, at all? Not having reached clinics yet, I don't know.

Yes. I had A&E teaching yesterday on Gomers based on the Rules of the House.
