Maths Questions Thread

Okay well I had a few questions to ask. Although there are quite a few threads on this so I thought I'd make this thread for people to just ask last minute questions and get answers (I'll answer any I know )

Here are mine:
1. For front, side and plan elevations how do you know which is the front and which is the side?

2. how do you work out the volume and surface area of frustum of a cone?

The what of a frustum? Surface area? Volume?

I think questions may differ, it's probably safe to work out the surface area/volume of whatever cone you have though (be it the frustum or the whole cone) and then minus something else.

Sorry I meant surface area and volume,
Okay, so there will usually be a way to subtract one part from the other? Cheers
frustrum = volume of whole cone minus the cone removed

1/3x pi x r^2 x h - (same with smaller cone)
