UMS AQA...somebody explain...

So for last years chemistry modules for AQA
i got marks as following
Chem 1 (total mark 90) : 60 UMS
Chem 2 (total mark 90) : 63 UMS
Chem 3 (total mark 120): 34 UMS
are the UMS a percentage?
or is it the marks out of the total?
I need to know so that I know which resit, Chem 1 or Chem 3 to focus on for tomorrows exam to be most likely to get a B or a C in AS chemistry

UMS is like a scaled mark. AS's are marked out of 300 marks, and your three modules don't add up to 300, so they need to be scaled.

I'll try to find something from the AQA that'll explain it a little better and possibly give tables.

Overall, you have 142 UMS out of a possible 300. That makes you 8 from a D.

Grade boundaries are as follows:

A = 240
B = 210
C = 180

If you want to get a B at AS, you need another 68 UMS.
