Re: AQA UMS points and grade boundaries.(Original post by beckiestar)
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how many UMS points overall is an A?
How do they split up over AS/A2?
Thanks!

Re: AQA UMS points and grade boundaries.
I've done really well in my A2 exams, considering my grades at AS last year. I think its because I have an offer from University and know I need to get the grades and have revised more.
This year I've hit a string of B's and A's in all my Unit's, whereas last year at AS I was less focused and Hit D's and B's.
This highlights the need to focus. Research what Assessment objectives are for your exam questions and what they are looking for. This is sometimes just as useful as solid revision. I'm not generally an 'A' standard but because I've researched what I need to do in exams it's helped push my grades up. -

Yeh, it's always wise to do AS resits on your A2 year. Even if you've got a low A, you might as well resit it since it's revision for the synoptic as well. Talking about the synoptic, imo its nasty. Questions are do-able if you're given time, but it only last 1 hr.
