Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village Accomodation
Yeah my friend whos in Howden lived in a flat of 10. said it was close enough to being in proper halls and the way its set out makes it really easy to mix with everyone in the neighbouring flats.
3 is a bit of a funny number of people really...I spose thats the price they pay for living in luxury! I'd be really pleased with 6-8. Sorry I'm asking such pointless questions but im getting more and more nervous that I'll end up somewhere really rubbish with hardly any people who wont like me! Pathetic, yes. -
Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village Accomodation
i emailed the admissions department twice to ask them about deluxe rooms, and they said that they are not necessarily grouped together, they said that deluxe rooms are mixed among the normal rooms, and therefore it is possible to be in a flat of more than 3 if one selects deluxe room choice.
I hope this is true, as i had to get a deluxe room b/c i need a bigger bed at my height to sleep well

Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village Accomodationit is possible, but the majority are in Deluxe only flats of 3/4.(Original post by Thomas McDowall)

I have friends who are 6'7 and 6'6 who've slept in a standard single all year, they've coped, so its possible to do it if you get a standard room. what you might get is one of the disabled rooms. -
Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village Accomodation
Fromwhat i remember of my open day. We saw one of the deluxe rooms that was attached to several standard rooms.
And it was pretty meh. like 20-30 quid extra a month (dont quote me on that) and you just get everything doubled up. So you get a double bed... more empty space in your room. and the bathroom is stupidly huge. But theres no additional stuff in there. so half of it is just empty, which seemed pretty pointless..
You could fix up a big sheet of glass and make yourself a giant aquarium iin the empty space. Or sublet it to a hobo. -
Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village Accomodation
Oh! I should have photographed my old room - I was in a deluxe room. There were two deluxes and five standard ensuites in the flat (Howden).
I liked having a lot of space, but at the same time it wasn't a necessity - the smaller ones are plenty big enough unless you take way too much stuff or get horribly claustrophobic. I would agree that the bathroom is a waste of space - it is ginormous, but has the same shower, loo and sink that all the other rooms have...only thing is that the mirror is stupidly low so you have to bend over to clean your teeth in it. -
Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village AccomodationWere you in Howden this year? A block or F block??(Original post by georgia)

Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village AccomodationI don't think so, no. E block wasn't very social between floors in the first term!(Original post by mollymustard)
Oh right I didn't know E block had Deluxe as well! You must have known Nabil then?
Out of intrest why did you end up leaving?
I didn't like the course I was on (Sociology) and had no desire to study it for three years! -
Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village AccomodationOhhh right - and you didnt fancy changing courses or anything?(Original post by georgia)

I didn't really know your block - kinda knew some of the girls in F3 like Rosie and Carli and that. -
Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village AccomodationThey don't let you study Italian as a major part of your degree - only 20 credits a year, and since I want to study both French and Italian equally, it didn't really fit for me. Plus I'm quite looking forward to being on a campus - city living isn't my thing (even though Shef isn't majorly city living like London or somewhere...).(Original post by mollymustard)

Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village AccomodationFair enough! These things don't suit everyone. Hope it all goes well for you(Original post by georgia)

Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village AccomodationHey I lived in Rivelin last year! I was in D block! My flat was of 6 and single sex of all girls. Bottom flat was single sex of all boys but I think all the others were all girls or mixed. I think in Riv it mainly worked that the bigger flats were mixed and those of 6 were single.......(Original post by Alice Jban)
i've accepted my residence contract for Rivelin... does anyone know the sizes of the flats there? and if they're mixed sex or single gender-(please god no!)- ?
aaaaaaalso, anyone else doing architecture??
To be honest you may just need to hang on a bit and see what crops up on facebook. I didn't know I was with all girls until we found each other on Facebook. -
Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village Accomodationhow do you accept? am i missing something? did you choose rivelin? is this 21 questions?(Original post by Alice Jban)

Re: Photos of New Endcliffe Village AccomodationBasically the Uni find you a room/place then you go online and accept the contract and pay the deposit. The uni contact you before the next move has to be made.(Original post by Terry Acky)
