Default A Levels Choices... PLEASE HELP!

OKay I'm going to post a thread about something I've been really worried about for ages now. For ages and ages I have been agonising over my A Level options and it's driving me crazy! I have no idea which subjects I want to do. I'm a A*/A GCSE candiadtae so careers advisors have told me to whichever subjects i want... which is quite unhelpful!

I always thoguht of doin a geog/politics/lit degree mixed with a language, lading to a career in jorunalism, or diplomacy or police or teaching or soemthing positive for the community therfore
My original options were going to be:

French, Lit, Politics, Geog, (maths/hist maybe)

But now i've thought about uni courses i would want to do. One possibility is medicine. Therefore I think I will choose Chem and Bio But... is it wrong just to choose them for a medicine career? I really can't imagine myself doing biochemsitry or anything, all i really want is a rewarding career, and doctor sounds good to me

Therfore I'd have to try and combine the two...

I thought of maybe doing 5..

Chem and bio.... french and lit and pol

but then i'm cancelling out a geog degree... and if i left out lit then cancelling out a lit degree and if i left our politics then i would be gutted, because i love the thought of doin politics ... people have told me that it won't keep my optinos open taking it. Also people have said for me that geog does't lead many places (apologies to geographers) but ive tkane a look at the a2 revision guide and it looks very easy to me... would i want a career in enviornmental planning? also would i want an easy ride at a2? i do really enjoy it though.. find it a bit unhcnallenging..Part of it is because i think i could get into oxford with it...

But anyways my plan would be to do:

bio and chem, french and two humanities for as.

and then during the year if i decided that medicine/ science isn't for me then drop one before as and then drop the other after, and then carry on with french and humanities for a2.

Or for medicine i would drop one of the humanities before as, and next one after and then do french, bio and chem for a2 (or possible drop french and so fast track maths a2 in one year)

For 5 as's do they let you get rid of general and it for learning? and slo how would they fit it ino the timetable...??? Also would 5 As's really be too much? I don't want to get overloaded... and i do get stress!

Okay, sorry for the incredibly long and confusing post. The disoirganisation really coveys my real confusion and worry at the moment. I just hate the thought of having regrets. I want to keep all my options open... and don't want to make any mistakes.

Please any adivce... how to keep my opttions open... whch arts subjects to take.... but yess.... just advice and help!!!!

well for a start politics wont actually be of any use for anything, so ignore that.
History, chemistry, french, another science/maths would be a good combination for the courses you are looking at
if you go down the politics/PPE route then applying with History French and Maths is very strong
as for medicine, if you have chemistry, many (most) medical schools care not if you have biology or maths or even physics as long as you have one of them
i hope this helps

How about: Biology, Chemistry, Geography, French? That way you can keep your options open for reading Medicine, and Geography with a language. If you want to do five, then you could also do either Politics, or English Literature.
