I live about 45 minutes miles away from middlesbrough and work their in Debenhams part time, £300 per month will definately be enough, if you're into going out as well there is plenty of bars and clubs to choose from all at reasonable prices so you should be fine on £300 p/m

cheers for that

Been working out finances, once I've subtracted my yearly rental figure (which incs electricity/water/gas) from my loan/maintenance grant, it leaves me approx £300 per month to live off. Come september, other than a mobile phone contract, I won't have any regular outgoings as my car will have gone by then.

I'm used to living off 3 x that figure at the very least, going back to study full time is going to take some getting used to. I can't make up my mind how much I'm going to need to allow for books/study materials etc, I know I can get by on £20-£30 of food per week that's not a problem and I don't feel the need to drink during the week....

Oh the uni is in the north east, not London!

will you be living in halls or in a house?

in halls, but like someone said I've already accounted for bills within the rental amount.
I live on around £130 - £160 no problem at all.

I see you live in Winsford, if you're a student and taking that kind of money home every week you must surely be a WAG, either that or you have a sugardaddy.

Out of curiosity, how does one spend 900 pounds a month on non-rent related expenses? That's 30 pounds a day. Do you buy new clothes every day or something?

Can I take it that you give at least half of that to the poor?
Bills AND rent paid before you came to that figure?

You'll live on that with ease.
