Well its obvious 4 A's is better than 3 A's, if you think that getting 3 A's is better than getting 4 A's your crazy
I'd rather be **** on three times than four...

What would be your answer then, if at interview you got asked
"Why did you do 4 A Levels when you should be aware 3 is only needed? Why didn't you use that time to gain more experience of Medicine?"

Its a perfectly reasonable question that may be asked..
you could use it to your advantage by saying it shows i can deal with large volumes of work. Just a thought the A* is coming in for me anyway  So ill probably do three A2's

maybe, but i personally think being able to juggle a levels and non-academic stuff is more of an advantage that being able to juggle an extra a level.

Like you say, the A* is coming in soon, and although many places probably won't require it to start with, it may make you stand out more than an extra a level would, (providing you have all the other stuff - work experience, volunteering).

But they can tell if you are academically able by looking at three A2s. If they couldn't then it would be a requirement to have four. So it wouldn't really be an advantage anyway, they'd far rather see someone who had loads of worthwhile work experience, gained in the extra time they could have dedicated to a fourth A2.

I don't believe that any of the medical schools have ever specified 4 A2s as conditions.

That is ture when they say on the web site, but sometimes they do give out conditional offers based on 4 A2s if you are doing 4, like my offer last year was AABB at A2.

Congratulations. Not only are you special, you now have to do more work than the people you're competing against...

Out of interest what did you get, AAAA?

Well yes, but thats not the point I was trying to make really...

4 A Levels can be detrimental because you can easily end up with ABBB and miss your offer. Whereas had you not been splitting your attention between 4 subjects you might have got AAB or AAA even.

I could've easily ended up with ABBB myself, luckily I got AABB.

The point I tried to make a while back, before a certain someone went off on one
I did an extra AS during my A2s...I don't think it made any difference tbh.

to a magical world. Haha yeah you was right in the 'medicine way'. Well basically we was looking at it in different ways All i was saying it that 4A's are better than 3A's nothing to do with getting less or anything, if your capable of getting 4 A's then why would you want 3A's. The way i was looking at it was that you cant say that 3A's are better than 4A's; that would just be pathetic. I agree that if your doing medicine then possiblity just do three A2's. A little advice please did you guys do 4 AS and then 3 A2? Or just 3 AS and then continued with these in A2?

4 AS, dropped one and did 3 A2.
Some placed require you to have that extra AS. Doing 4 AS is kinda becoming the normal now.
Yeah that what i thought im currently set up for doing 5 AS levels at one sixth form and 4 AS at another

Well, if you put it that way - "special", then what can I say! I take it a complement, anyway.

It didn't feel much of hard work for 4 A2s after all.

BTW, it was last year. I have already done them!

Bimey! When I was doing A levels almost everyone only did 3! How on earth will you find the time to do 5? You must be a hell of a lot better at exams/academia that I ever was!!!!
Haha they offered me six including critical thinking only one lesson a week
But im doing 5 no matter what
If you feel you're up to doing 5, then go for it, but don't let it take over, you've gotta leave time to socialise and chill out. Definitely don't do any more than 5 though, you'd be risking too much. Just remember, these should be the best years of your life, make sure you leave enough time to have a laugh, you'll be better off for it in the long run

Cheers, after your persistent arguement or 'discussion' with me you still give me good advice
