I havent specifically looked at individual colleges and their minimum STEP grades, but what sort of grade are they looking for?

I've just finished AS level maths, starting A2 level maths, and also just starting an AS in further maths (just AS: FP1, M2, M3)

Currently I ussually get a high grade 3 or if Im lucky a grade 2.

Do you need S or 1, or shall I just stop fretting and think about my schoolwork :P

I think hopefully at end of A levels with no revision I would be getting consistent grade 2's, as currently I glance over the papers for about an hour and can ussually get a grade 3.
SO would grade 2 be OK for Cambridge engineering?

You'll need grades 1,1 in STEP II and III to get into cambridge. But really don't fret because everyone starts off doing **** at this paper. Keep practicing, don't be too reluctant to persevere at a question and you will get the grades you need. Simple. I can guarantee you will improve over time and with practice papers.

I got an offer (albeit as a mature student) for 1,2 in STEP II and III, and know of others (not mature students) who also did. It does vary a little from college to college. But the advice given is sound.... the more you practice, the easier it gets!

mikeha: 1,2 used to be a pretty standard offer, but there seems to be a consensus that it's moved towards being 1,1 this year. But undoubtably there are still some 1,2 offers going around, and some people who are asked for 1,1 will probably get in with 1,2 as well.
