Oxford/Harvard HELP!
I obtained 15 A*s at GCSE between Year 10 and 11 in a range of subjects.
I then advanced to AS and now A2.
I have been predicted 7 A grades.
I am now in the process of applying to Universities.
It has always been a dream of mine to go to either Oxford or Harvard.
However, I missed the UCAS deadline.
Now I have to consider applying elsewhere or waiting a year.
How do I go about applying for Harvards.
What would you recommend? -
pointless applying from the uk if you dont have a scholorship.(Original post by Pencil Queen)
Go to the Harvard website and follow the instructions on how to apply (for a smart person you're not doing yourself justice with this question).
Check out the course fees and discuss them with your parents before applying (unless you have £40,000ish lying around going free).
T'is a very anal place to study as well. I know people that go there (and have then done post grad degrees in cambridge) and they say there is absolutely no social life there. Not like other unis (both UK and US unis)

Could be me but the way you are putting all your 'impossible but maybe achievable results' in a list sounds a bit cocky or arrogant.(Original post by Unregistered)

Hi,
I am not a lier. Also, after reading a post containing a "I am cleverer than you" argument which I considered extremely immature, I myself would not do anything of that sort.
It was explained to me by my college that the deadline to complete the online UCAS form was two weeks ago so that the referee could complete it.
That is what I meant when I said I missed the deadline and I was extremely distressed.
Thank you for enlightening me and I will discuss the situation with my tutors since there has been poor communication on their part.
Regarding Harvard, I would love to study there due to its prestige. However, I have never seriously considered it as I do not know the means in which to do this.
I am not a person with a high IQ but more a work ethic second to none. I have earned my grades and would not be cocky about getting them as I am really proud of them and have respect towards less fortunate people who may be more able, but not have the technique I have gained.
My parents are quite strict and but not of great wealth. Maybe this is why they are so eager for me to do well in life. Even if it is more so financially then socially.
Any ideas on how to get a scholarship into an American University?
Any help much appreciated. -
I am hurt by your allegations. I am not a regular internet "surfer" as it were since most of my life is dedicated to studies. I will enjoy life once in employment.(Original post by edders)

These people are not "less fortunate", they are a lot more fortunate than yourself as they have f***ing lives. You admit it yourself that you do nothing but study. At the end of the day what do you have to look back on as life as a teenager, 15A*s and 6As, so f***ing what, you didn't enjoy life. -
I may have worded that badly. However, I did not post this thread to create a dispute between myself and the rest of this wonderful community.
If you have to resort to such terminology that implies that I masturbate, well shame on you.
I meerly implied that I am not someone super intelligent but someone who works hard.
I enjoy myself, sometimes.
What is it to you any way?
I require help with an University application, something you probably have no idea about. -
W***ER!!!!(Original post by ****er)

A perfect example of why you don't have a life. You may have 15A*s but when you enter the real world you'll have no social skills, not be able to interact with people. When I say you're a w***er it's not "implying that you masterbate", it's calling you a d***, f***wit whatever. Because you have no life.
So you have 15A*s including English but aren't able to spell "merely" correctly.(Original post by ****er)

This boy is a fake. -
As the other poster said, someone with 15A*s would be able to spell liar [don't say it's a typo, the 'a' and 'e' keys aren't next to each other!(Original post by Unregistered)
I am not a lier.
It takes 2 hours to write a reference, not 2 weeks. Surely they would make an exception for you??(Original post by Unregistered)
