I thought it was ok as well but since geography isn't my best paper I'll be happy with a pass grade (anything between a-c that is)
I've just noticed the announcement about discussing Edexcel exams before 4.30am (GMT). OOPS.

i found it so easy- it was better than what i expected lol

it's pretty easy...except for farming (which is stupid of me to choose - but we learnt it so i thought it was the safer option only to find that tourism was much easier).

80% is an A* isn't it? then i'm pretty sure i just barely got it.

i did Weather and climate and Recreation and Tourism - to be honest it was pretty easy because the case studies didn't come up for these two sections
the grade boundary for A* would be about 80% so i think i might get that
Reply 7
i thought that paper was easier than 2007 paper

yeah it was fairly straighforward...did anyone do london and germany for the case studies? and anybody doing tourism/water, did you make reference to aswan and a national park?

Lol I thought it was easy in some parts and challenging in some parts so I'll settle for an A hopefully.

I preferred the DME to the main exam though..Lucky the weighting is only 50% to the DME and C/w

i chose germany and hong kong (my hometown so i'm more familiar with the waste disposal stuff here). i basically wrote that germany has an aging population, and a smaller working population so it's a burden to working people. and the birth rate is extremely low so they encourage people to have kids by giving them a paid leave of absence (at least that's what i've heard from the news). that way, the birth rate goes up and in the future there will be more people in the working population that are more able to support the elderly.
for hk i wrote about the large landfills, and how that the city is densely populated so waste disposal is even more difficult as there is limited land, etc. i wrote that there are programmes that encourage people to recycle and laws that increase the price of plastic bags and whatnot.

i did water. i didn't directly make reference to aswan although i did apply the knowledge from that case study into the question.

Oh I see. Yeah I wrote similar stuff about Germany - I mentioned they encourage immigration to lessen the burden on the economically active, and that now the German govt. has to provide healthcare aimed directly at the elderly, e.g., cancer specialists. Kool (Y) There wasn't too much to write about London [my home town] so I made up lotsa crap

Tourism and Weather for moi :]

It was an okay-ish paper, finished it - that's always good...

I can't remember what section it was, but there was a compass direction question. I put East because of the key at the bottom of the map, people I asked put down North-East what did everyone here do?

i put down north-east because it's kinda 45degrees from the point. i think they might except east as it's not really specific.
I thought there were a lot of 3,4 mark questions which are marked on levels (e.g. level 1 1 mark, level 2 2,3 marks, level 3 4 marks) which I never seem to get the highest level. To tell the truth I prefered past papers to this one. I was a bit dissapointed with the case studies as there were only 2 and I know all of them really well. Overall I think I got my 74% in the DME and main exam that I need for an A*.
