Default Modern Foreign Languages...advice needed!!!

Heya
I could really do with some advice!!
I've just finished my last year at school doing my A levels, and am really interested in going into teaching in the future.
My main preference would be secondary teaching as opposed to primary, however i was just wondering if there are any other ways into it??
So far I've applied to do a joint honours degree in French and Spanish, which is going to last 4 yrs, and then i realise that after that I will have to do a PGCE for a further year in order to become a qualified secondary teacher.
I tried to look into seeing if it was possible to just do a QTS combined with the languages somewhere but as of yet i couldn't find anywhere! Is it just that they aren't usually common for secondary teaching, and hence therefore it would be necessary for me to obtain the degree first then go into teaching? Or is there any other way?

Hey,

There's only really limited routes into teaching, try the link above and see if that answers any of your questions...

I hope it does, if not, look at Uni prospectuses - they usually give ideas and ways you can attain the best qualifications for your desired career!

All the best!

Thanks for the link
See I think i will end up just carrying on down the route of obtaining a degree in french & spanish first, especially now as i've already applied etc...i guess it's just last minute doubts i'm having!
Anyways after the 4 yrs i guess i might even end up changing my mind! And at least then i will have the ability to do so!
I just wondered if there was any quicker way of going about it! But i guess patience is a virtue!
Thanks for replying
