Default Water and good skin

Right, I've always had good skin but I decided to start drinking water recently, just for general health reasons/lose a bit of weight and my skin has gone to ****. Whatt? All these reports on how water is good for your skin is LIES.

How much are you drinking?

General consensus now is that you should drink enough to keep you hydrated. Don't just drink for drinkings sake

I don't. I just make sure I always have a bottle of water with me when I need a drink, to keep me hydrated.

About 5 x 75cl a day I suppose.

Not really a serious thread, I'm just pissed off! I want to keep drinking water instead of the usual fizzy crap, but ahh my skin

exactly. The 'drink 5 litres of water per day' is bull****.' The body requires 5 Litres of water but get's a large amount from other sources like food, air and drinks that aren't necessarily water.

If you continue drinking it for a while then it should be okay. But it's not just water it's the food you eat aswell and the exercise, etc that matters too!

5 litres!!! I'm sure it was 2 litres...

Even then, there's no scientific evidence to suggest that drinking that much water makes any actual difference to your skin. And there's no evidence that water is better than tea or squash for hydration.
People claim it to make a difference to them in personal testimonies, but I suspect that this is more psychological than anything. If it's not helping your skin and you dislike drinking water, stop bothering to drink so much. It's not necessary.

I don't dislike drinking water, I like drinking water. It helps me loose weight, gives me more energy and I like the taste. However the whole skin thing is ridiculous. I just don't understand how water can make my perfectly good skin bad, when nothing else (eating/exercise habits) has changed.

Not like I was expecting anyone on here to have the answer... just a general thread about the strangeness of it really.

You do know the amount of water you take in is equal to the amount you lose?

Water does hydrate better than soda. When I switched to water-only, I dropped several pounds very quickly, as my body was flushing out stored water.

As for your skin, it's a mixture of good hydration, a balanced diet (oils and fats can help the skin), and hygiene/care will go a long way.

well i dont think water is something bad for your skin. Maybe you got some allergies to its content or something... Or you got poor diet.
