Do you need to know studies for this, or is it really just like a research methods style question for approaches? I.e. just adapting the approach to fit a study, and then evaluating it, etc. as you might do in research methods with research designs.

You don't need to know studies. You have to make up your own study for part (c), and part (a) is based on the principles of an approach rather than studies.
