Spontaneous recovery

What is spontaneous recovery (in classical conditioning)?
It occurs after extinction (when you stop producing the response to the stimulus) , on presentation of the stimulus you 'spontaneously' do the response after you havent for ages. I think it occurs on its own without being conditioned again

It can also happen with habituation - you keep poking a badger with a spoon, initially it goes 'waaaa', eventually it gets used to it, you wait a minute, it spontaneously recovers and will go 'waaa' again. I'm SUCH a scientist.

It is where the phobia hasn't actually been extincted or has been for a short peroid of time, and the response is shown again to the stimuli/generalised stimuli. :smile:
