Default Sending out CVs...

I'm currently looking for a job to see me through the summer and I’m having no luck at the moment. I want to give out my CV to stores where I'd like to work but I don't want to be wasting my time handing out CVs which end up in the bin or forgotten about. Do you think it's a good idea to post stores my CV and address it to the manager or senior manager? That way the manager gets to see my CV and can get in touch with me if a vacancy is available or will become available in the future.

Wow paranoid much... I've given out loads of CVs and gotten loads of interviews, doesn't mean they're forgotten about. If the manager opens a letter and it turns out to be a CV, s/he's more likely to toss it aside and concentrate on more important things.

I don't think it is being paranoid, I have worked at many places and the CV have just been thrown to one side and forgotton about, it happens more than you think. I do take your point about the manager issue but aren't they the ones that select the applicants for the jobs so I doubt they would dismiss a CV.

Some stores prefer you to simply send in your CV, but if they're not hiring then it's likely to get thrown in the bin. Then again, i sent my CV to one place and then a good couple of months later i got a phonecall about it
