Seems to be the opposite at my store Constantly selling Maestros and both share boxes. The Striker is kinda popular, though nowhere near as popular as the GTA burgers.

I like the Maestro though, I love the sauce (wish they'd bring the garlic and herb snack wrap back), not bothered to try the Striker since I don't like any of the meat apart from 10:1  and RTE bacon is rubbish...
I reckon they will bring the garlic and herb snack wrap back at some point, although the BBQ one seems to sell well.

The RTE bacon can be so varied, sometimes you get decent bits (well as decent as RTE bacon comes ), while other times it's just like scraps of bacon.

Stiker isn't as popular with us either, though it's real easy to make compared to some of the other ones (sometimes I think I've forgotten to put something on as it seems a little bare) but we've had to red bin quite a few whilst we judge the popularity.

Does anyone have any tips for remembering what goes on the deli/wrap/sandwiches on chicken side at all? I got put on there on my own the other night (had to keep calling someone to do wraps though I'm fine on sarnies and mayo etc.) but today actually had a trainer with me. I was on the uht though which felt odd when there's like 4 hm, a box of 20, wrap, sarnie and legend all passed down at the same time (makes me feel like I'm even slower than I am!) but I want to get good at dressing to be more useful.

Also whilst we're on the topic of closes, what are the main things you need to do on a close when you're on kitchen? We're 24hrs so 3 people come in at 11pm but I see people doing things and I just kind of keep cooking whilst they do the other stuff, but again, I'd like to make sure I know what to do and be more useful when it's dead.

PS; What does RTE sound for? It sounds (and looks) like 'fake bacon' haha
You should have a build chart for Deli's and Wraps like you have for promotion sandwiches. Might be worth asking a manager or crew trainer to print of the BOP flyers. Or there is a document on the intranet which you can download showing you all the dressings - you'll need a manager to go on the intranet and get it for you though.

Don't worry about feeling slow on chicken side, it can be hard at first, just try to be as quick as you can while maintaining quality. It can be easy to end up with loads of stuff to bag up as it takes a second to pass it down but a lot longer to bag it up.

Close wise, it depends on your store as to how things are done. Generally stocking up dry stock for the next day, diving equipment you don't need and cleaning the surfaces are things you could do. But it'd be best to ask whoever is running the kitchen what you can do.

I'm the same with the Striker, I keep feeling I should put onions on it

I'm pretty sure they put the build charts up on ourlounge for delis when they brought deli choices out...but if it's there I can't find it any more >_<
Luckily they're slightly easier to do now though.

All of them use mayo, and spicy veggie a sweet chilli are the same except the veggie gets an extra slice of cucumber. Chicken salad uses sunblush tomato sauce and has tomato as well as cucumber (easy to remember it has both since it's salad) and chicken and bacon has sweet and tangy and a slice of tomato as well as bacon..obviously.

    So to recap

Sweet Chilli - Mayo, Sweet Chilli, Lettuce, Two slices of Cucumber
Spicy Veggie - Mayo, Sweet Chilli, Lettuce, Three slices of Cucumber
Chicken Salad - Mayo, Sunblush Tomato, Lettuce, Tomato, Cucumber
Chicken & Bacon - Mayo, Sweet & Tangy, Lettuce, Tomato, Two RTE

And RTE stands for ready to eat like Crafty said :P

Hah, hopefully! I think it's definitely one of my favourite sauces when we have it. What was the snack wrap between the garlic and herb and bbq one? I just remember them launching it and my store went from selling loads of snack wraps to literally one or two a day.
They even put a forum up on ourlounge asking about how popular the new one was....feedback basically summed up it was rubbish hah.

They should do bacon bits, I'd totally prefer those scattered in a snack wrap

Was the Honey Mustard one and agreed, it was a bit of failure. The Shake and Taste chicken doesn't seem that popular too, although I guess it's got a pretty good margin on it.

Would be nice to keep Garlic and Herb and the BBQ ones on permanently and a third one which changes. Chicken Tikka and the Chicken, Cheese and Bacon were both good. And as long as they are marketed as snacks rather than something more substantial, they shouldn't affect the sales of deli wraps.

As your under 18 you won't be able to work after midnight or before 4am, and then your hours will be within your availability which you would of discussed at your interview and should be stated on your contract.
I thought you do get paid it if you worked on bank holidays

I take it your talking about premium pay?

If your under 18 you can only get premium pay 4am-6am as your not allowed to work midnight-4am.

As for bank holidays, you won't get premium pay, you might get time and a half depending on your store. My home store pays time and a half on boxing day and new years day only, while my uni store doesn't ever pay time and a half.

Onion Rings were selling like hot cakes the other day , maybe the Striker and Maestro are just too similar to GTA and Chicken Legend.

Whats the next promo after the euro ? Is there a summer menu?

I'm assuming it's going to be an Olympic themed menu, which, after the "striker" is sure to bring out amazingly creative names.

There's an Olympic menu starting on the 11th July. We're getting Wispa/Wispa gold Mcflurry, Rolo Milkshake and cheese and onion bites. There's no chicken burger, and the beef burger is something cheesey again, can't remember it's name though.

The salsa snack wrap will forever be my favourite. They should bring that back :p: I don't like garlic and herb nor BBQ haha.

If you are working in a company store you don't get paid anything extra for bank holidays. For franchised stores, it depends on the store. Some will, some won't.

What's everyone think of the new promotion?

I really like the Striker, and it's been selling pretty well too so isn't too much of a pain for holding in the bin.
Not a fan of the Maestro, but only because I don't like Garlic and Herb sauce.
Not tried the Twix McFlurry yet and I'm not sure the Dream Team Sharebox yet, hasn't been selling particularly well.
I agree, love the striker! We've been selling lots of LEVMs with them as well, but not doing too well on DT Shareboxes

Just for my clarification, the pay period runs from when to when?

    Thanks, MH

Aha, I miss doing two snack wraps at a time! What was the other one which was available along with the salsa snack wrap?
I've never bothered to try the shake and taste, just seems a bit bland to me. I like my selects with sauce

    Mine pays 3.65/hour I think for U18 16+. But pays 5/hr for 18+ and 6.20 for 21+.

    +50P for Premium hours.

It might have been the ranch snack wrap. Although, maybe that was done along side the tikka snack wrap. Cause I used to always get confused which got the cheese and which got the cucumber, to me it made more sense putting cheese on the tikka and cucumber on the ranch! :p:

I tried the BBQ shake and taste, but I prefer it with the sauce as well

    Hi,

After reading this thread for a few days I thought it was only right to sign up :P Applied for two positions in different stores near me one was advertised as full time and the other part time, I did the same application for both part time 20 hours a week. Got a response for half and hour later from the one advertised as full time and for my interview and OJE. Now my part time one has been declined due to going through an application process with another store but they did say it had promise :P . Now this isnt going to bite me in the ass and make me less likely to get the job is it because I applied for one advertised as full time is it?

EDIT: Would these shoes be ok? I dont want to go and spend money for a job I might not even get :P

Those shoes will most likely be absolutely fine, that's pretty much the exact style of shoe they recommend anyway. I've worked at my local McDonalds since September of last year and I absolutely love it, most people moan about and don't really like it but I actually do enjoy it. The majority of the people that work their are students and pretty similar to yourself, everyone at mine has a great sense of humour. When I first started it was pretty awful because I didn't really know anybody and never really talked, but now its great I know everyone and get on with pretty much all of them. I've gone from having the single Saturday shift to having about 3 shifts a week now, one on the weekend and a couple in the week after school. Whether or not you enjoy it, its definitely a good experience.

For shoes, I recommend these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sterling-Ste...dp/B001U0OCZ8/

I've had them for a year now and they're still in a decent condition. They're comfortable and the grip is good.

So I start back again tomorrow. D:

I've been fidgety all week unable to do much because I am absolutely dreading it.. people will recognise me and be like "where have you been for the past 2 months?!" and I like to stay in the background, I don't want to be noticed. And I will have forgotten everything so will make a fool of myself.

    It's going to be awful.
