I've just started doing my psychology coursework and wondered if you guys thought this might be a good idea to base my coursework on?

whether couples are similarly rated in attractiveness when rated apart and when rated together.

Yes that's fine. It's the matching Hypothesis. A very popular and simple topic to do as other posters said. Most of my students did very well on this, as in As/Bs for their coursework.
