Omg Omg Omg. Wow, they royally screwed up the economics table! Birmingham over York/Bath/Nottingham/Bristol? That table has lost all credibility!

I think the tables are flawed and miscalculated. How can Birmingham be above Nottingham with the following scores:

Birmingham: 4B, 410, 77%
Nottingham: 5A, 453, 81%

Does anyone know how the tables were calculated?

I'm not saying it is (I don't know), but with those scores it could be. The first one being research (which isn't altogether relevant to undergraduate teaching standards) and the second being A-Level entry results (which is even more irrelevant).

That is for economics by the way. What other factors could contribute to the overall score . By the way why is entry score irrelevant? The better the university the higher the entry score.

a.) The RAE scores are another year older so 7/8 years out of date and b.) this year the Times GUG has included student statisfaction as more of a factor than ever before.

I don't see any column stating student satisfaction in the subject table.
