enthalpy of combustion question - please help!

this is a question from June 2005 - Unit 6 synoptic.

When 0.10g of propane was burned the quantitiy of heat evolved was 5.0kJ. The enthalpy of combustion of propane in kJmol-1 is:
A: -800
B: -1500
C: - 2200
D: - 2900

I keep getting C but the markscheme says B.

How would you do this calculation??

x
0.1g / 44 (Mr of propane) = 2.27 mmol gives out -5kJ

so 1000/2.27 x 5 = -2202kJ mol^-1

=> markscheme typo

You get 1.5minutes per question, and they're of the same difficulty as normal questions. :p: Only difference is you don't get any marks for method & you always have a 1 in 4 chance of getting the right answer.

multiple choice is horrendous!! honestly guys, i would muuuch prefer a synoptic which isn't multiple choice - in fact we kinda have that as well on AQA as unit 5 is partly synoptic. We have 40 questions in 1 hour, and like Wenzel said, you have to do calculations and in depth working out for most of them. It's awful trust me!! :smile:
