Basically, I had my group and one to one on the same day, but they are gonna do another group interview next week including everyone, so- should I write a thank you letter yet, or should I even write one? -
Re: The Waitrose ThreadI wonder why they are doing anothergroup inteview or do you mean with new people? Why would you need to write a thank you letter??(Original post by weirdnessandcoffee)

Re: The Waitrose ThreadSorry for the late reply, I've been on holiday.(Original post by SorayaA)
Hi, What did you have to do during the group interview? what do you think you did that made you get the job? Have you got any tips? Thanks
My group interview consisted of an ice-breaker game, questions answered orally about why we wanted the job, favourite foods etc, then two group tasks.
Don't be the loudest person in the room, but make sure you say enough and gets your points across well.
Mainly stay relaxed and be yourself, and make sure you have a decent grasp of the jlp partnership and waitrose (and don't make the idiotic mistake of talking about Jamie Oliver, former representative of rival Sainsbury's)! -
Re: The Waitrose Thread
For the people going for interviews, here's what they asked me:
-Introduce your partner to everyone in the group (they paired you up and you had to basically talk to each other, find out general stuff, etc)
- In the same pairs, sell a product (this is where we picked a product from a selection and find as many good things to say about it as possible, make sure you and your partner do 50/50 talking in the selling the product bit)
- Questions: 1. What is your favourite food and why? (this will vary but it's just a random question, don't try too hard and make it suited to your personality or whatever, a guy at mine did that and didn't get through) 2. Why do you want to work here? (this can be rephrased in many ways, make sure you prepare for it) 3. what do you want to do in the future? (just talk about plans, uni, career, etc. If you don't have an idea, it's probably best to brainstorm something or even make it up, may diminish your chances if you say "I have no idea what I want to do in the future")
The group interview is a bit nerve racking at first, but when everyone gets to know each other the atmosphere is so relaxed, just be yourself, unless you're really shy, in which case try and be confident (easier said than done I know). Speak slowly and clearly, be attentive, make eye-contact and such.
And above all, DRESS FORMALLY! For girls i think it's more general, but for guys make sure you wear a suit! You may feel overdressed if everyone else turns up in just a formal shirt and/or formal shoes (like in my situation) but trust me, this will make a good impression.
Question for the currently employed: I'm working as a temp on checkouts currently. At my branch, loads of people have quit, which is why I think they were hiring. What are my chances of this becoming a permanent position? I would really like to continue to work there

Re: The Waitrose ThreadIt took 12 days for me to get a reply from them. They should send you a letter if that is how you asked to be contacted, however I was contacted via email.(Original post by printergirl)
i applied online for a job, how long do they take to reply, will they send me a letter as that is how i ask they contact me -
Re: The Waitrose ThreadErmmm....im not going to lie, it is a bit of work, getting up everyday, it really depends, on what job your doing if its really boring then its going to be a lot harder! I went from doing nothing to full time and its a real jump, you dont have as much time, by the time you come back home, you only have a couple hours left and then its time to go to work again! but it is rewarded and you get a substantial amount! But its not easy, but definitely manageable!(Original post by matt4504)
How hard is it to work up to full time?
