I know someone who did an Aerospace Engineering PhD at Loughborough - apparently it's excellent for that area of research.

Plenty of universities offer aerospace engineering. Here are some you could consider:

    - Southampton
    - Bath
    - Imperial
    - Bristol

i think there are 2, one is critical thinking and the other is called STEP mathematics, the STEP exam is required by other unis like bristol and warwick

    Look on their website! FFS.

They require the TSA as it stands. Some colleges require you to take STEP for engineering.

    Yes
At Cambridge most colleges get you to do the TSA, a couple ask for STEP

I was thinking of the top 5 for Aerospace was
    Cambridge
    Imperial
    Durham
    Manchester
    Bath

Are Southampton/Loughborough better than any of those ?

No TWO frequently require STEP; Petershouse and Churchill.

And your list is wrong as well.

    Durham?....
    Manchester?...

    What about Bristol?

As for the whole Engineering at Cambridge or Imperial shuv that discussion up your arse.

Ok, what do you believe are the top 6 for aero engineering ?

I was putting my ideas forward and asking what was wrong with them. All you appear to have done is put question marks next to two of them and started talking about putting discussions up my arse.

    My top 6:

    1. Cambridge/Imperial
    2. Imperial/Cambridge

As far as I am concerned the rest suck.

    Hi there,

I know I am bumping an old thread, but I was wondering if any of you had heard anything about Kingston (on Thames) combined Aerospace Engineering, Astronautics & Space Technology course?

I attended Leeds' university yesterday for their open day and am now town between the two of them for my Firm choice.

Kingston - 1 common mechanical engineering year then years 2,3 and 4 are aerospace engineering and astronautics.

    http://www.kingston.ac.uk/astronautics/#modulelist

Leeds - 2 common years of mechanical engineering then years 3 and 4 are aerospace engineering, with only a glossing of astronautics.

    http://www.engineering.leeds.ac.uk/u...shtml#MECH3740

those two URL links are examples of the modules throughout the 4 years of the BEng/MEng.

Given that list of modules which would you all say is the better choice? Bearing in mind that I am currently in the 2nd year of a BTEC Level 3 in Aerospace Engineering and already have offers for both.

Leeds - Distinction, Distinction overall (To include Distinctions in Maths & Further Maths and a Merit in Mechanical Principles)

    Kingston - Distinction Distinction overall

Thanks in advance for all your help
