Looks like it's going to have to be a 'download a few seasons of TV at home' thing then right? Lucky I only live 2 buses away atm then, guess my parents will be seeing me at weekends a lot more than I originally planned!
2gb is an absolute joke though tbh, other unis are way more friendly with their internet...

To be honest, unless you are being socially recluse, you shouldn't really hit that limit all that often - and when you do, you just borrow a friends login.

Does the system work on a login basis, or is it down to your ip/mac address? Because if it's the latter, I think I can just, reset my network card, and that would (should) reset the bandwidth counter.

If it's on logging in basis, then I think I may have to look into alternatives. 2GB is certainly not enough for my usage.

It's a login thing. Honestly I think you'll be alright. I was on the Internet all day (because I pretty much am a social recluse, haha) and I never had any trouble. Not being able to download torrents was annoying for me though.

As Bethany stated, it is on a login basis. To access the Keele network you are required to download a piece of software called Hallsnet. If I am not mistaken, the Keele network is also port blocked; which means you cannot play online PC Games. Torrent software should also fail to work as a result of the network.

torrents work but you've gotta be careful with them as you can get in trouble
a standard user wont use 2gb a day by a mile
quite a few PC games can be played but you have to join the https://www.facebook.com/groups/274867442547141/ or https://www.facebook.com/groups/133137200093238/ to find out which are playable
