I think you should just practice a bit more sober.
Obviously the more times you try it, and become comfortable with it then you will enjoy it more.

Drink gives you a lot more energy and confidence, and I suppose this added relaxed feel is just letting you enjoy yourself more.
I think you could easily learn to enjoy it equally as much sober.
