Was up nice and early for a 20mi ride this morning. It's the first cycle I've been in years- felt really good.

I think I need to eat a bit more to get some extra padding on my bum though.

eurghh, planning on necking down some pasta shortly before a lengthy ride outdoors

got to be done, need the carbs to fuel the body

not sure what to do, may just go crazy and cycle to macclesfield or even to leek and back, from Stockport.

    meh

    Football shorts.
I should maybe get padded ones. Do they help much?

I know. It should be my friend but I don't find it particularly tasty.

Just got pasta with cheese, tuna and salmon mixed in, for lunch. Give it an hour or so then off I go on my ride

Definately I just bought a rather expensive pair of Castelli bib shorts...they just came through the post and I'm wearing them now, they're so comfy XD On the bike padded shorts are well worth the investment.

    I got these in white:

I know they're expensive, but I've had cheap ones in the past (My balls didn't thank me ), and I do spend a lot of time on the bike so that's how I kindof justified it

But yeah, check some of these out :')

I suppose it's a good investment if you spend a lot of time cycling.
Thanks for the link. I might buy a pair actually (although not expensive ones since I won't be cycling as much as you)- my bum is really sore. :P

It's deffo worth it, I have a pair of £20 cycling shorts and they've worked really well for me for pretty much all my cycling up untill now; comfortable with good padding. I also bought a pair of £10 shorts, they where horrible but I think it's because they're unbranded and fake

Remember your bum will get used to cycling eventually give it a couple of weeks, I don't feel my bum anymore, even when it's just a pop to the shops in my jeans, my bums just used to it.

    Thanks :')

I'm a bit apprehensive, but I'd rather take part and come last than not take part at all

I have a conundrum....It's raining...do I spend an hour on the turbo watching TV or be a badass mofo, MTFU, and get out in the rain?...hmmmm...

What do you guys think I should do?

Rule #9 / If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.

Fair-weather riding is a luxury reserved for Sunday afternoons and wide boulevards. Those who ride in foul weather – be it cold, wet, or inordinately hot – are members of a special club of riders who, on the morning of a big ride, pull back the curtain to check the weather and, upon seeing rain falling from the skies, allow a wry smile to spread across their face. This is a rider who loves the work.

Hahaha just read through all those rules, hilarious.

Been out quite a bit recently, although the crappy old (I'm think about 10 years old...) bike computer I had is dead and so I can't tell my speed or anything anymore. Any recommendations for a new one?

I bought a Cateye Strada wireless computer a few days ago. Doesn't do cadence (the next model up does though) but it's excellent. Think a couple of other guys in this soc have it as well.

I would just like to add that I did my cycle in the pouring rain this morning. Huge puddles everywhere. I was absolutely caked in mud by the time I got home.
